Hey! A few of my paintings were selected to be part of the Arts@Large “Creative Pulse” exhibition this Friday night in Walker’s Point, as part of gallery night. If you’re looking for something to do from 5-8, this Friday, or 12-4 on Saturday, there are many galleries open. Come check out the opening @artsatlarge to see a multitude of interesting creatives all connected to the Arts@Large organization. It’s a wonderfully diverse show of different backgrounds, styles, and creative ideas:

Last night’s #onthetable event felt right - so much of the work aligned with why we willed @create.space.mke into the world in the first place. A big thanks to @dominicinouye from @zipmke - the single most important element in this process. At this point in the evening you see the inspiring @kavoncortezjones performing “Paris of the Midwest” in front of a power-house group of Milwaukee movers & shakers. I’m thrilled to have been invited by @rawartistsmilwaukee to exhibit my work at their next artist showcase called “SAVOR”

The event will be held at The Rave on Wednesday October 25th from 7:00PM-11:00PM. The event is 18+ and all guests need a valid ID (because that’s how the Rave does it)

I’ll be exhibiting next to a variety of visual artists, photographers, hair & make-up creatives, fashion designers, accessory designers, musicians and performance artists

As many of you know, I’ve drastically altered my life’s path. I see this opportunity (and others like it) as my chance to break into the art world and sustain my practice & passion. As I make my play, I need your help.

One of the best things about making this happen is what the showcase does for me: I will have an opportunity to showcase again outside of Milwaukee at any other RAW location of my choice. This would be huge.

Create Space MKE came about as a vehicle for us to explore the City of Milwaukee - to unearth the people, places, and ideas that are evolving the city in creative ways, in tune with the spirit of our times. “What Does Milwaukee Look Like” has been the driving question, organized through the “issues at hand.” These issues (Space, Race, Entertainment, Transportation, Work, Gender, Education, and Leadership) are the strategic focal points that highlight the powerful currents coursing through the city organism.
Throughout this process I have found myself listening to musicians, entertainers at their core,that have much to say about the other issues at hand. In @iamklassik , I see a vibrant energy that is at the same time driving at the forefront of our contemporary culture, but also tapping into vibrations that echo from thousands of years and voices ago. I was deeply moved and inspired by his chopped, looped, remixed rendition of Amazing Grace ( @milwaukeerecord - Public Domain Series) . I channeled the unlocked concepts and energy into a series of 3 paintings over the past two weeks. It has launched me into a new way of conjuring artworks into existence, and for that I am grateful. The video attempts to do justice to the energies that are often times absent from art exhibits - I hope you enjoy
